Hello, My name is Sandra Avila. I transferred to UF this past summer and my major is Biochemistry with a minor in nutritional science. I am on the pre-dental track and one day I hope to own my own practice. My talents include spinning flags, rifles, and sabres (I used to be in the competitive Colorguard team at UCF). I believe I have leadership skills, perseverance, communication skills, and good time-management skills. I wouldn't start the business idea that I have mentioned before on my blog but, as I mentioned earlier, I do want to own a practice when I finally become a dentist and specialize in orthodontics. This business could help me, help others boost their confidence with a better smile.
With an orthodontic practice, I can help patients have a "perfect" smile which will then, in turn, make them feel confident about themselves. The smile is one of the things a person notices about someone, so having a good smile can help build valuable connections with people. My new idea for my blogs for now and on will on making a device that will make teeth straight as they are growing. This way you skip the "crooked teeth" look and always have a straight smile.
I am offering this device to parents who's kids are developing and would like their kids to avoid the awkward stage of life where your teeth are going in different directions.
My customers would want to buy my device because maybe they had a bad experience with braces so they wouldn't want their kids to go through the same pain or bullying that they went through. This device could avoid all of that.
This device could really set me apart as an orthodontist because as far as I know, there is nothing right now that could help adult teeth develop straight after the baby tooth falls. There are products such as Invisalign that could help your teeth straighten and not be noticeable to the public but why avoid the whole "crooked teeth" look and go straight to a perfect smile.
In addition to these five elements, please send a paragraph evaluating whether you believe these elements fit together or whether there are aspects of your business concept that are weaker / out-of-joint with the others.
I believe my personal skills and knowledge fit well with my business idea. I feel like my purpose in life is so too help others, so why not help with self-esteem. In a world like the one we live in today, we are constantly comparing ourselves to others and finding self-value in objects or other people when we should find happiness within our own selves.
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI thought this post was very well detailed. To begin, you have some really interesting talents! My brother also used to do Colorguard which was really interesting to watch. I thought you did a great job of detailing the dental service you would be providing as well. I am interested to know exactly how your product works so that I can have a better understanding of how exactly is differs from products like Invisalign. Overall, great post!
Hey Sandra,
ReplyDeleteFirst I want to start off by saying how impressed I am by how thorough you were within this assignment. It was amazing to hear about how dedicated you are about your future career and it seems you have everything figured out. This product idea is very interesting and would help to save people in the future a lot of time and hassle. I'm glad you are incorporating real life plans into this class, you never know what you could accomplish in the future ! Great post !
Hi Sandra
ReplyDeleteI believe this would be a great product, I would definitely be in your segment for this product, as I had a pretty bad experience with braces when I was younger. I'm sure there must be a way to make teeth grow correctly instead of just fixing them later. This seems like it would save everyone a lot of headaches and time later on, and you could get this done before formative high-school and middle-school years which I'm sure kids everywhere would be thankful for
